WORKSHOPS 2026.
‘‘The mere exposure to masterworks does not suffice. Too many persons visit museums and collect picture books without ever gaining access to art. The inborn capacity to understand through the eyes has been put to sleep and must be reawakened. This is best accomplished by handling pencils, brushes, chisels and perhaps cameras.’’
-Rudolf Arnheim
We carefully selected workshops with artists from all over the world, teaching and sharing their unique processes and knowledge about image making.
The intimate atmosphere of the Atelier allows for a communal feeling of personal exchange and expression.

STEVE CHMILAR
This unique, new course covers the most important aspects of art making; the Creative Process. Join Steve Chmilar as he shares everything he’s learned over the past decade-and-a-half of his professional painting and drawing career. From creative thinking exercises, original world building, composition, maquette sculpting, character development, understanding light, working with a model and how to make complex multi-figure narrative scenes that are pleasing to the eye without looking too busy. While being able to sell every painting and drawing that he has ever made, he will even cover how to make ideas that may not be ‘marketable’ more appealing to art collectors - while staying true to your personal artistic vision.
This week-long workshop is for any serious, obsessive creative who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves. Be prepared to bring more new ideas than you ever thought was possible back into your studio.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Ivan Loginov (b. 1994) in Abakan (South Siberia), Russia. He began his career at the age of 15 in Sankt-Petersburg. From an early age, he developed a passion for classical representational art.
Most of his time he dedicated to studying principles of classical Russian painting in the Imperial Academy of Arts, which has an unbroken tradition since 1757. In his studies, he focused not only on technical aspects of painting but also on philosophy. He aims for a balance between inner and outer beauty of the human portrait. His success comes from a deep understanding of the classical school of thought in painting and drawing. He strives to combine and overlap all his skills in order to achieve an accurate representation of the human soul.
He likes to implement and play with contrasts in color, technique, and ideas. Therefore, even in his large-scale history paintings, one must find clear messages of present issues in society.
